Treating the Symptoms of Complex Trauma in Adolescents:

Adolescent survivors of complex trauma are a distinctive population requiring support above and beyond the average adolescent. This training will assist participants in defining, identifying, and understanding complex trauma. Participants will be provided with concrete interventions for treating the symptoms of complex trauma in adolescents.

Engaging Families of Troubled Teens to Reinvent Their Community Supports:

Families of troubled youth often find themselves disconnected from their communities resulting in negative consequences on their family unit. This workshop will assist participants in assessing a family’s level of community involvement and identify creative ways to engage families in connecting with their community supports.

Working with Juvenile Justice Involved Youth:
A look at Trends, Risk and Protective Factors and Effective Engagement and Treatment Options:

This training will give a brief overview of the types, trends and statistics of crimes committed by youth. A summary of how Juveniles enter and progress through the Juvenile Justice System will be discussed, as well as the risk and protective factors leading to juvenile delinquency. Information will also be provided on effective and ineffective interventions in working with this population.
